On the Sunny Side Of the River
23 June, 2008What a feeling… My beloved bed, soft, cold and large, growing darkness in the room. A quiet Sunday evening.
It’s only to protect us from too much stress during the July holiday that we decided to sleep in our brand new summer house at the weekend and we chose the French side of the Rhine for that purpose. We love the French side of the Rhine.
During the experiment, we discovered that the new tent, the king size air mattress and our new sleeping bags will certainly make our stay in Sweden even better.
But they were way too much for this sultry France weekend. No bikini, sun protection, sun hats and bathing helped against red skin, general hotness and the ensuing tiredness. How can anyone spend their free time south of the 54° N latitude is something I will never understand.

Nisem preverjala, ampak menda je bilo tam okrog 35 °C, čez vikend. Do 30 še prenašam, potem pa počasi koaguliram …
Ti nimaš zgornje meje?
Obstaja pa tudi plat poletne vročine, ki mi je zelo pri srcu: vsesplošna svetlost, močne vonjave (pokošena trava, raznorazne travniške in gozdne rastline, drevesa (akacija, lipa…) ipd.) in pa intenzivne barve.
Pri nas se pa cvremo pri dobrih 39-40! Tu brez klime res ne bi slo.
No, se malo, pa se bom pritozevala, kako me zebe. Res je finta, kako se clovek na razlicne stvari navadi. Prejsnji petek se mi je zdelo tako fino hladno. Grem precekirat in izvem, da smo imeli “samo” 33 stopinj.
Go figure.
39-40… Ojej. Največ, kar poznam, je 38 stopinj, ki smo jih doživeli enkrat, leta 2003. Ne bi več.
