A Short Autumn Story

The student nicks, not really listening. What was that? You can have it all if you go away? Far away? Hm.

Sharing Hans Albers’ open-mindedness and following his steps along the Reeperbahn can be interesting and disappointing at the same time.
You see, I just couldn’t imagine anyone wanting to purchase anything and anyone there. Apart from two rings made of stainless steel for 5,70 EUR, which I couldn’t resist.
On the other hand, the most famous German red-light-district includes and attracts many artists, not only customers. Which is sort of nice.

On Chairs
30 August, 2007For many centuries, chairs used to represent the elevated position and dignity of their owners and it was only in the 16th century that they became objects of common use (source), replacing or complementing benches, stools and such.
One could claim chairs have undergone many changes as to their design and structure since the ancient times: many an old piece today seems to be more of an exhibition object than a piece of common furniture, intended for everyday use.
In an open-air museum on Öland, there are some chairs that, in my humble opinion, support this view; I wouldn’t sit on (most of) them day by day, but I like them a lot:
