A Nice Symbol

18 February, 2008

(A disclaimer is in order here: It’s Monday and I have one thing only on my mind: How and when to reproduce dr. Filomena’s Cinnamon Cake… I also wanted to write much more on the topic below than I did in the end, so I may have to return to it one day. But let us go now, you and I.)

For The Very First Time

19 November, 2007

“So, how often do you get to drive?”

I look up, surprised. Then I quickly categorize the question into “So, was your driving license a waste of money or can you actually drive?”

I can. I do. It’s just we don’t really have much need for this kind of transport and that I don’t really feel the need to grab every opportunity to do it.

Still, to prove I am your normal alcessa-from-the-block Hausfrau, I did something today I had never done before.

I took the car and went shopping. Mineral water, groceries and stuff. I even bought myself a present, the PC-plus magazine. It promises to make my XP even better.

I know I should be excited about this novel experience, but it was quite a boring affair and our local supermarket reeks of wurst and döner and other dead-animal-products.

But you see, I can do it.

How about some Blog-Birthday Poems?

This clumsy elk from Slovenia
Already felt like a senior;
When she put up a blog
To eliminate some bog
And show you her best interior.

So: Are You Or Are You Not?

18 April, 2007

SUPERINTELLIGENT?

There is an IQ test in today’s Spiegel online; how about taking 10 minutes off your work and giving it a try? Its aim is to tell you whether you should try the original Mensa test or not.

Don’t worry about the instructions being in German; all you need to do is complete a series of signs with the right one(s).

And: richtig means correct.

UPDATE: I did find an example of a Mensa test - it is called Mensa Workout and it’s in English this time. It isn’t their official test, but it’s fun. Especially, since I should be working as hell.

UPDATE 2: Pa še eden v slovenščini.

UPDATE 3: A lovely English one (THX, Sunshine). For Nr. 2 and Nr. 3 you’ll need some Bible knowledge, though.
